The WoodbridgeWoman’s Club recently completed a renovation of the children’s room at the ACTS Homeless Shelter in Dumfries. The project, which took several months to accomplish, includes brightly painted walls, new flooring, furniture and a wall-mounted television set.

Efforts were coordinated through Teri Pritchett, the director of the shelter. Ms. Pritchett indicated that the room is used daily by children ranging from toddlers to teens. The warm and inviting room serves both recreational and educational opportunities for the children.

The Woman’s Club annually chooses a project as part of its Home Life Program in its effort to promote the welfare of the community by enhancing the lives of others. The club, founded in 1965, is a non-partisan, nondenominational women’s volunteer service organization dedicated to community services.
